Comenius University in Bratislava (Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave) - is one of the most famous higher education schools in the country. The first and largest Slovak university, where since its foundation more than a hundred thousand students have been trained! The institution was founded in 1919, and occupies a central position in the higher education system in Slovakia.
A number of international and national research projects have been developed and designed here. Today the University has thirteen faculties, which educate students at more than 1300 specializations. More than 28 thousand students in various forms of training and education levels are getting education at this institution. Among them there are about 2000 foreign students from eighty countries from the whole world. Each year the university accepts about 7000 new students. There are undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. The educational process is conducted in distance and full time study modes.
Teaching is conducted mainly in the Slovak language. There is also a programme in German, French and English. Education at the Slovak department is free of charge including foreigners. Studying in a foreign language is carried out on a paid basis, the cost - from 3 thousand euros (Faculty of Management) to 11 thousand euros (Faculty of Medicine) per academic year. It is necessary to apply before the end of March, entrance exams are held in June, and enrollment is held in July. A prerequisite for studying at this university is taking exams, but one of them can be accepted on the basis of an appropriate certificate.
